Traffic Situation on 280 and the Inability to Get Out of the Subdivision
 
I spoke with Gary Ray (transportation in Shelby Co.) about the traffic situation on 280 and the inability to get out of the subdivision in the morning due to cars grid locking the intersection. He was very nice and helpful and called Birmingham and called me back to say that they had received several calls and the reason was that the cable that controls all the traffic signals between Meadow Brook and the Cahaba River had been cut and as a result the traffic lights are out of sync. They are working on the problems and according to a news report last night it may be quite some time before it is fixed.
